Everything You Need To Know About Commissions in Ashes of Creation

Everything You Need To Know About Commissions in Ashes of Creation

Completing commissions is one of the main ways to level up and earn currency in the game. You will start doing alot of these once you’ve done the first few basic starter quests. Such as learning about the town, crafting your basic tools and getting a horse.

Once you have completed those and found yourself looking for things to do, you can head to the commission board that is located in the nearest town. The easiest one is located in Lionhold, which is the first main town that you visit.

Commission Board

As seen in the image below, the commission board is located next to Billmaster Harold, on the north side of the town.

Once you have located this, simply interact with the board, and you will see all the different types of commissions. They can vary from rarity and the level of how challenging they can be. The higher the rarity, the higher chance of more experience and more Dull Glint, which can be sold for gold.

Grey commissions are the easiest and lower rarity, then green, then blue. If you are planning on doing blue rarity, then we highly recommend having a party of friends, so you are able to complete the quest.

You can have a total of 30 quests in your journal at a time. So, for the first time doing commissions, look for around 5 quests that look good to you that are around the level of 4-5, some are really easy to do, such as “The Bone Crusha” as it’s just around the corner. You can kill it really fast and gain alot of xp.

However, pick some that you like the look of and when you have discovered the ones that are “easier” for yourself, you can then just accept only them ones next time around, as these are all repeatable.

Starting a Commission

Now that you have accepted your quests, come off the commission board screen and press the “J” key to open the journal. We advise untracking all the main side quests and tracking only your Lionhold commission board quests. You can only track 9 quests in total. If you have more than 9 quests, they will not show up on your map unless you manually track them.

Now it’s time to head to your first quest location. To easily find the location where you need to head to, press the “Show on Map” icon on the quest, and it will open the map to the rough location you need to go.

Once at the location, it could be a simple case of killing a boss or surveying a certain area. If you are struggling to find the location of a boss, you can always use our database, to search for the enemy and find a pinpoint location.

Completing a Commission

After doing the commission, it will not automatically complete, so you will need to re-open your journal and click the quest. Here you will see the “Complete Commission” light up, which you can now click to earn your XP and your reward.

If you are wondering what to do with the Dull Glint that you received as a reward for most of the quests, you can head to the equipment vendor in any town and click the “Materials” tab in your bag and sell them for gold. Then you can purchase new armor and weapons to help you later on with even harder commissions.
