Ultimate Amitoi and Amitoi Expeditions Guide – Throne and Liberty

Most MMOs have a Pet System and Throne and Liberty is no exception! In this game, you can obtain a whole collection of little pets called Amitoi over time. These battle companions will follow you, gather your loot, and even provide healing. These collectible pets can be discovered and unlocked across the world by completing various side quests or as rewards from dungeons and other content. Additionally, you can send them on expeditions to fetch a range of resources and items. This guide will explain how the Amitoi System operates!

Introduction to Amitoi

Amitoi are your trusty companions in Throne & Liberty, providing crucial support in both open-world exploration and dungeons. They offer consistent healing every six seconds through the “Amitoi Heal” ability, which consumes World Tree Leaves, available from Sundries Merchants. Beyond healing, this pet will automatically collect loot from defeated enemies, which is very handy, as you can focus on combat instead of looting. You will unlock the pet system early in the game and just a little bit later you will also get access to Amitoi Expeditions – a passive resource-gathering system that will be explained later in this article.

In addition to providing healing and collecting loot, pets can be invaluable for alerting you to key elements in your surroundings, such as Mystic Portals. They’ll notify you with a message and a bright orange arrow indicating the direction of the Mystic Portal. However, these hints can be easy to miss if you aren’t paying close attention! So, keep an eye on your companion to make sure you don’t overlook these crucial environmental clues.

Collection Buffs and Pal Synergy

Unlike some MMOs that shall not be named, Throne and Liberty developers understand the value of long-term grinds and collection systems. The Amitoi “pet” system is one such collection-focused system, as you are rewarded for collecting as many little pets as you can to receive passive Amitoi collection buffs and even more can be achieved via the Pal Synergy system.

Amitoi Collection

Collection buffs are relatively straightforward – the more pets you collect throughout playing the game, the more passive buffs will be unlocked (up to 25 currently). These buffs include things like small Sollant Bonus, Abyssal Token Efficiency and EXP Bonus. Ultimately you can get a passive effect that increases all your Sollant gathering gains by ~6% which is a pretty significant increase over time!

Pal Synergy

Pal Synergy is the next step in the pet collection system – by gathering these paired Amitoi, you activate more unique passive buffs through Pal Synergies. For example, collecting Crafty Joker, Forest Buddy Grover and Scatterbrain Shaccoona grants the “Jolly Tourists” achievement, providing your character with a passive +0.5% EXP bonus for the next time you need to level up in the game. As you complete more pairs, you’ll earn various benefits, including faster Weapon Mastery leveling and increased Sollant gains. You can easily find out where to collect specific Amitoi by clicking on their “How to Acquire” information buttons.

Amitoi Expeditions

Once you’ve found Adventurer Percy in Kastleton and completed the quest “A Small But Mighty Companion” in Chapter 3: Veterans Never Die, you’ll unlock access to your Amitoi House. Here, you can send your trusty little pets on Expeditions across various regions, allowing you to passively gather loot like crafting materials, cooking ingredients, Abyss Tokens, and even rare items like the Archboss Weapon fragments. To enter your House, click the round Amitoi button on your HUD or the square button next to your minimap.

This system allows you to send your trusty pets on various Expeditions. You will need to start leveling your Expedition Team in Golden Rye Pastures and at first, you can only send one Amitoi. As you level up in this system, you will unlock more Expeditions to explore and will also be able to send more pets (up to 5 eventually) to fetch some valuable resources.

Currently, there are 25 Expedition Levels and all Expeditions are split across 3 Regions. Expeditions will differ by potential loot amount and also the Cooking Ingredient that you might want to target-farm passively.

A somewhat optimal way is to determine which Cooking Ingredient you are looking for and then send your Amitoi on short 1h expeditions for that item.

Once you have gathered enough Cooking Ingredients, you can start to target-farm for other Amitoi, such as Cutie Thwump from Fonos Basin (lvl 15) or Odd-Eye Skelti from Bercant Manor (lvl 24) as well as better fishing rods.

Once this is completed, another farm option is to send your Amitoi on longer and higher-level Expeditions to target the Expedition Pouch. This has a chance to give you Archboss Weapon fragments that can be sold on the Auction House or crafted into an Archboss Weapon eventually

When your pets are on an Expedition, you cannot select those specific ones to accompany you on your adventures in the Open World. Some pets also have additional bonuses based on the region they are being sent to (this will be shown with the Green Up-arrow next to the icon). Sending a bigger team on the highest level Expedition with as many buffed ones as possible would usually net you the best rewards including the biggest amount of Expedition Team experience to level up in this system.
