Step 1: Finding and Fighting the Abyssal Demon
Our first step to figuring out how to get the Abyssal Whip in Runescape: Dragonwilds is to consider what an Abyssal Whip could possibly come from. In this case, the classic Abyssal Demon is your ticket to success. The earliest Abyssal Demon that can be found is located in the Whispering Swamp – patrolling the West side.
We highly suggest coming extremely prepared for the Abyssal Demon as it is very strong – at Power Level 4 no less. You’ll notice the Abyssal Demon immediately by its purple glow and mantis-like arms.
How to Beat the Abyssal Demon in Runescape: Dragonwilds
The Abyssal Demon has several attacks, some being standard block-able claw slashes. However, the Abyssal Demon has some very fast teleporting attacks that should be dodge rolled to avoid total devastation.
As can be seen above, you have an opportunity to see the Abyssal Demon using a teleport attack. As a result, be ready to defend. It is important to use enchantment Spells such as “Enchant Weapon: Fire” and “Tempest Shield” to deal more damage and protect yourself. If you deal enough damage in a short period of time – the Abyssal Demon staggers onto its knees. This is your window to deal as much damage as possible while being safe.
After defeating the Abyssal Demon, you’ll receive material such as Abyssal Spine, Abyssal Ash and other materials. However, the Abyssal Spine unlocks the Abyssal Whip recipe!
How to Craft the Abyssal Whip in Runescape: Dragonwilds
To craft the Power Level 4 Abyssal Whip, you’ll need the following materials:
- 1x Abyssal Spine
- 8x Hard Leather
- 4x Ram Horn
- 12x Vault Shard
- 1x Vault Core
Special Attack
The Abyssal Weapons Special Action is the “Abyssal Snare” attack. By pressing “Middle Mouse Button” (by default), the Abyssal Whip fires a purple line that travels across the ground. This purple light explodes at the endpoint, snaring or staggering targets and deals damage.
