League of Legends Smurfing Changes Information
Recently, Riot Games released a Dev Update honing in on the 2024 season of League of Legends and what is in-store for the game. The Dev Update brings forward a bounty of new changes for the player experience and more.
The hottest topic from Riot Games is without a doubt League of Legends smurfing. In the past few years, the game has had an alarmingly high amount of smurfs on the ranked ladder. For those that aren’t fully aware of what “smurfing” means, it is where an experienced player (for example Diamond+ ranked on their main account) uses a secondary account with a much lower rank to abuse their experience in an easily playing field. This can cause a miserable experience in different brackets but also promotes boosting too.
Riot Games have confirmed they won’t go into a lot of their specifics to avoid players finding holes in their strategy. However, the general plan is to work on the game’s matchmaking services to better recognize the difference in skill between players. Hopefully this can minimize League of Legends smurfing, as the situation has become quite rampant.
New League of Legends Champion: Smolder
To round it all off, Smolder the Fiery Fledgling was revealed! Smolder is an AD-Carry Champion that arrives on the PBE January 9th.
