The Whispering Swamp in Runescape: Dragonwilds can be quite a pain to travel through and explore. From its foggy atmosphere, to prowling dangers, you really have to be prepared. Fortunately, however – the Dragon Slayer quest brings you to a very specific spot (as seen on the map below). This location also happens to be a Vault. Fear not, though, our Whispering Swamp Vault walkthrough is here to help you explore the nooks and crannies.
You’ll know when you’re at the Vault entrance as it sports the same design universally throughout the map.
Whispering Swamp Vault Walkthrough Section
Below is an easy to follow, straight to the point Walkthrough of each Vault in this zone.
Vault Core 1
Upon entering the Vault, you’ll be met with water and a couple of high spots with Rune Essence, Ore nodes etc. Moving further onward leads you to the main room with the boss door, lever room and pathways to choose from. Head up the stairs to your left as you enter the main room and follow the corridors until you reach your first trap set-up.
Crossing over the trap and taking a left brings you to your first Vault Core room! However, it is guarded by a few Vault Guardians – so make sure to beat them up first.
Vault Core 2
With the first Vault Core found, continue on through the opposite door from how you entered the room, you’re then presented with a forked road – left or right. First, take a left and follow the path until you reach a water-filled room with some Vault Guardians. In this room is a secret jump-up, reachable with “Windstep”.
Heading up the stairs, you’ll find another left or right split-off section. However, this time, there is a staircase down the middle too. The left path takes you to a Vault Guardian, a chest and some materials. As a result, take the right path and continue through – right to the second Vault Core!
Importantly, there is a Dragon statue sitting behind the Vault Core. Interacting with the Dragon statue fills your mind with wisdom – teaching you the Anti-Dragon Shield recipe! The Anti-Dragon Shield is one of many Masterwork items.
Vault Core 3
The final Vault Core – much like other Vaults, is located in the “boss room” of the Vault, unlocked after pulling the lever room lever. Head back to the 3-way path room that you previously took a right in to reach the second Vault Core – head down the stairs. It’ll take you to a watery under-passage with another staircase (and a chest) heading back up.
Here, you’ll find the lever room and Spitfoot, a Goblin left to die by another human that tricked them. Talk to Spitfoot to progress the Dragon Slayer quest, shortly after, pull the lever and continue through to the main room to enter the boss room.
Fortunately, there is nothing protecting this Vault Core! As a result, go ahead and pick it up. Congratulations, you’ve cleared the Whispering Swamp Vault.
