The Stormtouched Highlands is one of the more difficult terrains to navigate in Runescape Dragonwilds and the Vault found in the Northwest is no different – you will however get a break from some of that lightning!
In this guide we plan to help you navigate your way to the Vault entrance and then through to the end.
Entrance to the Stormtouched Highlands Vault
The Entrance to the Stormtouched Highlands Vault is slightly South East of its location on the map. As you can see where we are here on the image above. You need to basically find the start of the river and you will find a cave with Vines on, you need to chop the vines and head into the Cave, this is where the entrance to the cave is. Once inside the cave, head to the back where you will find this Wall of Boulders, pickaxe your way through to reveal the vault entrance.
Just before you enter the vault, if you look to your left you will see a chest, if you choose to risk it, you can jump over the cavern to see what’s inside – Be careful we lost a few good men here!
Upon entering, you will need to go both right and left, we started off by heading left first! In this vault you will find more secret rooms that you have in any of the previous vaults, so keep an eye out as your adverting around this one.
After dispatching the first set of mobs you will find your first Dragon Effigy which you will find just through this Fire Trap on the lefthand side. There is two routes moving on from here, both lead to the same location so feel free to explore as you will find a Vault Core here!
Once you’ve got your Vault core, keep exploring through the Vault, here you will come across a couple of secrets – remember to look for those party broken walls and pickaxe your way through them.
As you make your way through, this will lead you back to the main room and this is where you want to head to the opposite side you originally went down, for us in this guide, its the right and side as you exit this room.
The next exciting room you will come across is this room full of fire traps! Yup, its likely you will get a little burn navigating this room. See if you can get across without getting set on fire, haha!
Before you push across the fire, make sure you wind jump up around the top here to pick up your Vault core.
Just up at the back of the room you will find a Dragonkin Effigy, this should give you access to craft the Dragonkin Mage Robe Legs. As you make your way into the next room, you will notice that this place is going to be quite the fight.
As with most of the Vaults, its actually quite hard to aggro just one or two of the mobs, so for this room we tried to get the attention of the guys on the right and lure them back to the entrance of the room thus creating as much distance from the final mob as we can. Make sure you buff up before you head into battle here, and don’t forget your armor.
Once you clear the mobs, head into the back of the room where you will find your next Dragon Efigy. When you’re ready, make your way to the final vault room – be sure to look out for the secret room near the level for a cheeky chest!
The Final Boss in this Vault is tough and he’s not alone. We opted to lure him into the doorway here to try and line of sight the other ranged mobs to give us the upper hand.
Once you’ve beaten the boss and all the mobs in the room, go and claim your Vault core and Dragon Effigy! And thats it, congratulations you’ve completed the Stormtouched Highlands Vault.
