Everything You Need To Know About Badruu

I spent hours and hours playing Sakuna: of Rice and Ruin and was hooked on its complexity in farming mechanics. Then upon hearing that an MMO with farming focuses on its cozy atmospheric vibe, I was immediately excited to transition from shooting hive gods from Destiny 2 to a more relaxed pace in Palia.

While it’s fun shooting and hunting mobs for trophies and glory, there will always be a time when you just want to relax your brain cells and tend to your garden. In Palia, you can do just that. Our Gardening Guru Badruu here will most likely be your go-to guy for your gardening needs. In this guide, we will show you the location where you can find Badruu and what he can offer you.

Badruu is the local farmer of Kilima village, a father who loves a good pun, great music and will happily give you tips on gardening. Badruu will also be able to provide you with the necessary skills and tools for you to have a successful yield.

Badruu Map Location

To begin your gardening career, you have to find Badruu first and talk to him. He usually walks to and from the Kilima Village and the Family Farm, which is on top of the Leafhopper Hills. Sometimes he can be seen on the farm, doing his favorite pastime, yep, gardening. When he has a lot of time and is not farming, you can look for him in the village strolling up and about.

In this map, you can see Badruu in between the Leafhopper Hills and Kilima Village.

Skills

As with any other skill in Palia, your gardening skill can be improved as you sow your crops and get those sweet sweet yields. You can level up your skills by completing questlines from Badruu. Growing your skill level will make your gardening life easier, faster, and better products.

Gardening

Quests

To be able to do gardening, you have to first find and talk to Badruu, then he will give you the quest “Gardening 101” where you will be taught the basics of gardening.

Badruu First Quest 1
Badruu First Quest 2

After getting the quest from Badruu, go to your plot and talk to him.

Badruu First Quest 3

He will give you the necessary tools and resources for your new gardening experience. The quest is as straightforward as it can be. You will be asked to plow your plot, put seeds on it and water them down then wait for the harvest. It might be slow and tedious at first but rest assured, that it will get easier and faster as you level up your gardening skills and procure better tools with Badruu.

Friendship and Romance

Palia has a charming array of NPCs with whom you can form friendly relationships and this includes Badruu. There are several ways to increase your Friendship Level with all of the villagers. You can:

  • Chat with them every Palian day (which resets hourly in real-world time)
  • Giving them gifts once every real-world day.
  • Gifting them unique types of gifts they call Weekly Wants (in order to know what gift they are looking for, you have to converse with the specific NPC like Auni or his friends)
  • Progressing through each character’s story arc by completing their storyline quests and mastering their associated skills.

For those seeking more profound bonds, a handful of characters are available for dating. Unfortunately though, as Badruu already has a wife, romance is out of the option.

In summary, Badruu is just one of the many wonderful NPCs you will mostly spend your time with as you level up your skills and procure more advanced tools for farming and other activities. You can find him doing his own thing in the Kilima Village or on the Farm. Be sure to talk to him every Palian day (every hour in real-world time), gift him his Weekly Wants, and engrossed yourself in his backstory by doing his story questline to further your relationship with him, but no romance.

As we play and learn more about Badruu, we will update this guide. Check out more of our Palia Guides here! Or if you fancy other games, we have other guides here on MMO Wiki.
