Singularity Six Brings Palia To Steam
After not hearing much about a possible Steam page for the game you can imagine the shock the community got when Singularity Six announced they intend to bring Palia to Steam. With no official date other then 2024 there is still a fair few details missing but that does not take away from the great news -Palia is going to be on steam baby!
Obviously Singularity Six will continue to use and maintain their own launcher even after the games Steam page goes live, however adding Steam to their growing list of platforms is another great move by the team over at Singularity Six. For those of you looking forward to using Steam to launch Palia you can wishlist it HERE so you can be notified the second its available for all to use!
Why wasn’t Palia on Steam before?
Steam is a great platform to launch a game but they also need to fund their general operation costs, to run their services steam takes a 30% revenue cut (standard) which sometimes can be negotiated but this isn’t the industry standard. Steam also handles refunds and purchasing systems in their own way, this can be complicated for developers wanting to have a better handle on their microtransactions. Alternatively there is also the community attached to Steam in the form of community forums and reviews, its possible Singularity Six did not want to moderate or otherwise engage with the community on the platform.
Additionally the earlier Epic Games release could have included an exclusivity deal for a certain period or until a certain amount of downloads where hit. Truth is we will likely never know the exact thought process of the developers, the main thing is that Palia is finally going to make it to Steam somewhere in 2024!
