Welcome to Palia! As you embark on your adventure, you’ll discover a whole range of core skills that will unlock as you progress. Skills will help you in Palia and are one of the core parts of the game. One of these skills is mining. Mining will help you gather the ore you need to craft tools and furniture.

Tools to get you started
Like all the other skills, mining requires a pickaxe to be able to mine the ore nodes. To get a pickaxe you will need to pay Hodari a visit as he is the leader of the mining guild.

Where to find Hodari
Hodari can be found in either Kilima Village or by the mines in Bahari Bay. If you are not sure where he is you can always open your map and look for his icon. This will tell you if he is in Kilima or Bahari. Hodari will teach you a bunch of different skills so that you can improve on your mining.
Leveling up Mining in Palia
As you engage in mining activities and break down rocks for materials, your Skill will level up. The more you use the skill, the faster you’ll progress. As you advance through the levels, you may unlock exclusive rewards and improve your tools. Be sure to visit Hodari often, as he rewards your efforts with these rewards, which can include recipes and upgrades.

The more you mine and gather different minerals you will start to unlock better recipes from Hodari. You can use these recipes at the Anvil to refine your materials to craft better tools. Some of these refined materials can be used in other skills such as Furniture making to craft beautiful furniture.

Starstones in Mining
Did you know that you can also get Starstones while mining? Starstones are valuable gem-like items that can be sold. It can also be given to any villager as a gift to raise their friendship level. Here is a table of what a starstone looks like and where to get it from. Thus, their market value.
