The Bad News Quest Guide Requirements
To start the Bad News Quest Guide, you must have achieved a friendship level of at least three with Kenli: Friend in High Places.
The Bad News Quest
Kilima Village is facing a significant issue where the Duchess is considering raising taxes for the Daiyas Family, consisting of Badruu, Delaila, Nai’o, and Auni. Given your shared farming background, you’re determined to ensure they aren’t forced to leave Kilima. Let’s work together to prevent this unfortunate outcome and complete the Bad News Quest Guide!
Visit Delaila and discuss the potential consequences if the taxes aren’t paid. Delaila explained that her grandfather had signed a contract, and according to their property deed, the taxes are set at a fixed rate “in perpetuity.” To her understanding, this signifies that the taxes are meant to last indefinitely. Report back to Kenli and let him identify that the Daiya Deed is the real deal.
Kenli emphasized the urgency of locating the contract deed before his sister proceeds with the eviction of the Daiya Family. He entrusted you with the key to the records room, where it’s believed the deed can be located.
Location of the Deed in The Bad News Quest
Once you’ve updated Kenli, exit the room and descend the staircase.
Remember to keep on looking to the right side since the records room is on that side. The Door leading to the quest room is pinpointed by the arrow.
Enter the Record`s Room and find the deed for your fellow villager!
Once entered, You can immediately find the Daiya Farm Deed, which is located on the table. Take it and report back to Kenli.
The Bad News Quest Guide Continuation
Hand over the Daiya Farm Deed to Kenli! Kenli will be overjoyed and filled with hope, knowing that the Daiya Family will continue to reside in Kilima Village, all thanks to your efforts!
The quest has been successfully finished, and Kenli requests that you speak with Delaila. He expressed his desire for you to convey his apologies to her on his behalf. While he acknowledges that he should apologize personally, Kenli feels uncertain about facing her after everything that has transpired.

Here’s some additional information to enhance your immersion in the Palia story: This is what Delaila has to say regarding the issue.
Kenli wanted to apologize to you.
For nearly getting my family kicked off our own land? Yes, I know.
He stopped me earlier to say sorry for all the trouble. The poor man looked like he was going to cry the entire time.
I told him I wasn’t gonna hold it against him since I know he was just followin’ orders.
He invited me and Badruu over to his estate for dinner next week. I’m gonna surprise him with a grateful of me award-winnin’ jam!
