We got extremely hyped at the first extended look at Dead Island 2 extended gameplay trailer! In this article we are going to take a deeper dive into the Dead Island 2 Extended Gameplay Trailer.

Follow our Slayer, Dani, through the streets of Beverly Hills and Bel-Air as she tests new weapons and shows off powerful skills like ground pounds. The combat won’t leave you disappointed as you go head to head with some of our Los Angelenos zombies.

The first two scenes we get to see in the Dead Island 2 Extended Gameplay Trailer is of a beautiful mansion in the Hell-A hills. It’s looking quiet and like a lovely place to live, but as you look in the distance you can see smoke rising across the Horizon. A glimpse into the chaos were about to adventure into.

The trailer takes us into 1st person view as we see the player playing as Dani, one of six characters you will be able to play as. As she makes her way out the mansion, she comes across her first Zombie. Armed with a knife, she stabs it right in the skull with the knife giving off this awesome electric effect. One of the many weapons you will be able to upgrade.

Where is Dead Island 2 based?

Dead Island 2 is based in Hell-A, a fun post apocalyptic version of Los Angeles!

As she makes her way down the road we get a little look into some of the combat styles. Throwing the Knife into the Zombies head, then drop kicking it to the floor before stepping on another ones face!

The Dead Island 2 Extended Gameplay Trailer breaks into a quick cut scene, talking about the realistic dismemberment system the game has. This little cut scene shows off some insanely gruesome, but satisfying moves you will be able to perform.

In this cutscene you get a little look into some of the Zombies you will be killing and some of the weapons you will be wielding. They discuss how we will be able to use different weaknesses on different zombies to take advantage of, such as shooting one in the leg and taking it off!

Will we get Side Quests in Dead Island 2?

Yes! Side quests will be a big part of Dead Island 2. Helping other Humans survive or maybe you opt to take their stuff for yourself. Although in the Dead Island 2 Extended Gameplay Trailer they decide to ignore the call for help from the man over the intercom. It shows us the availability off side quest that you as the play can decide to do, or not to do.

How many Weapons are there in Dead Island 2?

We get a good look at the Weapon selection screen which seems to show off a large variety of weapons. We can also see a 1/9 option one the Katana, assuming this may be a variation of Katanas that you would be able to modify.

Moving on we get a look at Dani making her way through one of the Hell-A houses, as she reaches the downstairs she drop kicks one of the Zombies through the glass. This dealt some awesome damage and dropped the zombie on its ass!

A few seconds later she throws her knife into the outside heater, blowing it up! An awesome way to interact with the environment.

The Dead Island 2 Extended Gameplay Trailer continues on giving us a good look at some of the weapons, combinations, zombies, traps, explosions and more.

What can we Craft in Dead Island 2?

One of the great features from the original Dead Island was the ability to create fantastic weapon combinations. You will be pleased to know we can craft in Dead Island 2 also. We don’t yet have the full range of weapons but keep an eye on the Tools of Destruction page as we find out more.

We get a quick glimpse into the weapons we will be able to craft. As you can see in the image above, we can equip the Katana with flammable fluid to set fire to, and explode enemy zombies!

As you progress through Hell-A there will be multiple routes you can take, challenges to unlock, stashes to find and NPCs to encounter, venturing off the beaten path will have its benefits. They show a great example of our Purple Pants Pizza Enjoyer Dude where you need to help him secure their courtyard.

After we’ve saved Mr Purple Pants Pizza Enjoyer Dude we get a good look over Hell-A at some of the Iconic Landmarks. The next few scenes show us a few more destinations we will be exploring and another quick look at more weapons!

Will there be Skills in Dead Island 2?

Each character will be able to equip their own set of skill cards which will enhance your slayers ability. This should help level the playing field between you and the undead!

Players are able to swap and combine the skill cards to create unique combinations creating an exciting variety of gameplay!

How do we chain elemental effects?

In Dead Island 2 you can use the items you find laying around in Hell-A to create an explosive combination of elemental effects. From Car batteries to gas canisters and acid spills, you can use these items to create unique and exciting element effects to kill the undead Zombies!

What is the Corrupted DNA Mutations? – Fury Mode.

As you progress later in the game you will be able to tap into your Corrupted DNA, unlocking Fury Mode. It looks like we all have a bit of Zombie in us after all – Rick from the Walking Dead was right! This will allow you to use Fury Mode and unlock your Zombie Mutations!

The rest of the trailer shows some more awesome footage kicking some zombie ass.
