Everything we know so far about Nightingale
Nightingale, headed and created by Inflexion Games is an upcoming shared world survival crafting game set in the Fae Realms. Something not commonly known is that this is actually Inflexion Games first title entry as a studio. First impressions mean everything and Inflexion plan to hit it big with their first and admittedly gorgeous looking title. Lets take a look through everything we know so far about Nightingale.
Lost in the Fae Realms
In Nightingale, we are cut off from our world, due to a sudden collapse in the worlds network. A tragedy such as this has left countless individuals – us included – fighting to survive and traverse mysterious and labyrinth-like realms, topped off with heaps of danger.
Survive the Realms
Make preparations to head through the Faewild forests, harrowing swamps, shimmering deserts, and shadowy jungles as you progress through additional portals, bringing you further into the lands of Fae. Craft and build shelter, cook food to keep yourself alive and generate the willpower to survive.
Gather & Craft
It looks like we will be able to craft tools to harvest the resources within Fae, such as plants, trees and harvestable ores along with rare but precious resources deeper in the realms. Equipment and weapons will be craft-able from what appears to be schematics. Rare ingredients found within the deeper realms can provide you with enchantments to gear.
Explore & Discover
From recent gameplay trailers, realms look fairly expansive and free to roam around in as you see fit. Most realms shown so far have been visually stunning, with hopefully many different biomes in the Gaslamp Fantasy world. Along the way we will be seeing remnants from the past adventures people like yourself took before and investigate the realms in Fae’s architecture and ruins. Seemingly, every portal should bring something different to the table for us to explore.
Co-op or Solo
As confirmed across multiple streams from the Developers, Nightingale is a solo Adventure with the option to play cooperatively with friends in an online shared-world realmscape. Together with friends you can combine your efforts, strengths and resources to survive and succeed. Work together to build communal estates, join up in uncovering the mysteries of the realms, and unite in facing the challenges of the Fae.
Deadly Encounters & Combat
Throughout the videos and streams we have publicly seen, combat seems to be involved in both first person shooting with firearm weapons, or melee weapons such as axes, all fully craft-able. Throughout the realms of Fae you will be confronting fearsome creatures that lurk within the portal realms. We will also be required to fend off incursions by the twisted Fae mimicries of humanity – simply known as the Bound. Players can join together to take down colossal apex creatures in the deepest reaches of the realms.
You can also take combat and adventures into your own hands with more control over what realms you will see: through the use of Realm Cards.
Realm Cards & Endless Adventuring
Recently the developers dove into one of their major driving factors of Nightingale, this system is known as Realm Cards.
Realm Cards is a system that offers a level of variability and exploration potential within Fae that differs from a standard Survival experience. The Realm Card system produces a procedural generation within an intentionally designed world. This offers you a way to not only discover everything Nightingale has to offer, but to have agency and player choice over how you explore and experiment.
Realm Cards are just the beginning of some of the wondrous discoveries that you will make when playing Nightingale. Hopefully more details around Realm Cards and other gameplay systems in the future will come.
That is currently everything we know so far about Nightingale! Currently the title has no release date but we are hoping to hear more information soon and will keep you up to date with not only the release date, but any new information we receive!
