Even though many other keys are spread around the map, the key to the Venice Lifeguard Safe is one of the keys that can be found before the ending. The reason for this is that once the player has advanced through the game and returned to Venice Beach, then you will be able to find the special zombie which will appear and you must defeat them for the key.
This Dead Island 2 tutorial will show you where to go, in order to obtain the Venice Lifeguard Safe Key. This will unlock a chest containing a lethal weapon.
Venice Lifeguard Safe Key Location
In order to acquire the Venice Lifeguard Safe Key, the player must finish the Venice Beach main quest line. If you have already finished the quest, backtrack to the location shown on the map and there you should find Brody The Lifeguard.
Brody The Lifeguard is a named Zombie which can be classified as a newer variant of an Apex Zombie. You can make this fight easy by using a firearm with shock or bleed damage and keeping your distance since zombie can still do damage to the player.
Remember to be aware that Apex zombies have a large chunk of health and have no resistance. If you plan to use melee weapons, use sharp weapons with shock and bleed elements. You can easily get behind this zombie, since its movement is sluggish and predictable.
Once you’ve killed Brody The Lifeguard, it will drop the Venice Lifeguard Safe Key. You can then now proceed to the Venice Lifeguard Safe Location.

This will give you the Zombie Sword, which has high slicing damage and it can decapitate any zombies along the way.
