Announcing Pax Dei

Announcing Pax Dei

At long last, the moment has arrived for us to share what we’ve been making. Pax Dei is a project we’ve been working on diligently for the past couple of years. And for some of us, it’s the game we’ve been dreaming of making for longer than we care to remember.
In a nutshell, Pax Dei is the fusion of two high-level concepts:
The vision of a living fantasy world inspired by the traditions & legends of the medieval era. Here, myths are real, ghosts exist, and magic is unquestioned. In your home valley, life is relatively safe and peaceful. As you venture out into the wider world, however, things begin to change. The further you travel from home, the stranger things get. Anything becomes possible.
Our belief in human interaction as the ultimate source of fun. The most memorable game experiences are the ones you share with friends. That’s why we’re building Pax Dei as a sandbox, where players are free to set their own goals. And we’re doing it at true MMO scale. The result is an open-world playground where you can build your home, create a thriving village with your friends, and engage with thousands of other players to make this world your own. We can’t wait to see the stories that will come to life.
We’re beyond excited to bring this game to you. That said, there’s still plenty of work to be done before we get there. If you’re interested in tracking our progress and engaging with the team, make sure to sign up for our playtests and add us to your wishlist on Steam. You’re also welcome to join us on Discord, where we’ll have regular updates to share.

Funding

After securing €2M in funding during a seed round in October 2019 and another €7.6m shortly after in march 2020 Mainframe Industries finally managed to complete funding in November 2021 after recieving a total of €20M from new backers including Twitch and Riot Games.
Securing the Pax Dei trade mark on the 30st of november 2021 it looks like the game has been in the works for quite a while, with the concept floating around as early as the first formation of Mainframe Industries in early april 2019.

Pax Dei Announcement Video

The Announcement video gives us a deep dive into the vision for the game and its development team, it also comes with plenty of alpha gameplay footage some of which we have been able to confirm is as recent as 17.2.2023.
all of this comes with an open Alpha application Signup on their website so if your interested in testing out Pax Dei make sure to check out our guide on how to access the upcoming Alpha.

Pax Dei Details

So far we have no exact release date or window for Pax Dei, we do know they aim to launch on PC through steam and will review further platforms down the line. Because Pax Dei will run on UE5 so we are expecting system requirements to be rather up there, we will make sure to update you on them once they get released.

Make sure to check out our other Pax Dei posts while we wait for more news from developers Mainframe Industries.
