The Crucial Role of Light in Farming & Gardening in LOTR Return to Moria
In the shadowy depths of Moria, understanding the significance of light in farming is critical. Unlike the outdoor expanses of Middle-earth, Moria’s underground setting introduces a unique dynamic. Thus, you need to understand that each crop needs to grow in certain areas. Mushrooms, which are mostly underground, don’t need light to grow. In contrast, most other crops need light.”dark” crops (mushrooms) wont grow if placed in direct sunlight and similarly a “light”(onions etc.) crop wont grow in the darkness. Therefore, understanding these mechanics is essential for successful farming in LOTR Return to Moria.
Light and Dark Crops
A Farm Patch or Farm Box is labeled as “light” or “dark” based on its location, regardless of actual light level. A full circle provides sufficient light for light crops, while a half-full circle indicates areas dark enough for dark crops. Torches and artificial light do not affect this mechanic.
To uproot an incorrect crop scroll down the menu and click “E”. This will destroy the planted crop, freeing up the Farm Patch or Farm Box for another. Be careful when you are interacting with the Seed Boxes as you can easily plant something by mistake.
Harvesting Crops in LOTR Return to Moria
Only Crops from your Inventory can be planted. After you’ve planted a crop, wait for it to grow in stages. Given enough time, a Crop can grow from 1 Seed/ Seed Crop into 4 of the same Crop. Thus, if you plant one Mushroom it will eventually yield a maximum of 4 Mushrooms.
