The biggest change with Sons of the Forest Update 6 is the new stone buildings. You can not only build walls, columns, and beams out of stone but also a cozy fireplace, and it won’t be surprising if they’ll be adding more in the later stages as well. With this, you can defend your base even more effectively against the mutants and build cool castles.
Stone Building Structure Guide
Where to gather stones
The stones for these walls can be found everywhere in the game world. It can be best seen near water areas. At best, you can send Kevin out to collect them. Then, as with the wooden wall, you can stack individual stones to build the walls.
What can be built
Stone Fireplace
Building a stone fireplace in Sons of the Forest is a pretty easy task. However, to do so, you must have collected stones first. You’re going to need 42 stones if you want to build a fireplace. Once you’ve collected the stones, open your Builder’s Book and go to the Utility option. You will find the stone fireplace option in this section. Select the fireplace option, and you will be asked to position it where you want to build the fireplace. The best thing about building a stone fireplace is that you can place it anywhere and make it face any side you choose.
Once your blueprint is ready, use the 42 stones that you have collected to build the fireplace. And just like this, you have built yourself a stone fireplace in Sons of the Forest. Now, unlike in its prequel, The Forest, you can put the fireplace to use in this game. Put a few logs and branches in the fireplace and light them up to start a fire. You can use this fire to cook yourself a meal or even sit by it to prevent the cold. With Sons of the Forest featuring a dynamic change of seasons, you can use the fireplace once winter arrives.
Stone Wall
Building a single stone wall in Sons of the Forest can be tedious, as you would need to place about 28 stones in total 4 stones wide and 7 stones tall. You can connect as many walls as you want with this one. As with the wooden wall, you can stack individual stones to build the walls.
Stone Beams
Building stone beams is quite easier than you’d expect, you just need to place 4 stones connecting to two columns. Just place two logs on the ground and add the stones in between the two logs. With this, you can create doors and archways.
Stone Columns
In creating stone columns, you just need to place 4 stones on top of each other to create stone columns.
With the release of Sons of the Forest Update 7, Stone doorways, struts, windows, window shutters, pillars, and stone holders have been introduced to the game and many more! and with these brand-new additions, I’ll show you how to create it yourself.
Stone Doorways
You can now create Stone doorways by first creating a stone wall. then take down 4 segments by getting close to the wall with your axe and pressing the Left mouse button to create a gap.
Then you’ll need to create 2 half-logs.
Lastly, you can place your half logs in the doorway to create a door.
Struts
To create struts just place 3 or more stone arches near each other.
Then, place support on each side of the struts.
Detach the middle pillar section by getting close to it and pressing the C key.
Here you should have created your struts.
Windows
To create a window, you’ll first need a wall.
Remove one, two, or three segments by getting close with an axe and pressing the Left mouse button.
You’ll then have your very own window to watch the cannibals get near your base.
Window Shutters
For those long and cold nights filled with cannibals, you might want to close the window, and the new addition of Window Shutters can now help! First, you’ll need your window.
Chop a log to get a 1/4th cut.
Then, go near your window and you can now place the shutters.
You can now open and close your shutters at will by pressing the E key.
Stone Storage
Are you tired of creating multiple Advanced Log sleds just to store your stones? Look no further as the inclusions of the new update you can now create your very own stone storage! You’re going to need 12 sticks if you want to build a stone storage. Then, open your Builder’s Book and go to the Storage option. You will find the Stone storage option in this section. Select the Stone Storage option, and you will be asked to position it where you want to build the Stone Storage.
