Starting out you will quickly find you have limited defensive capabilities. In this post we will show you where to find a Gun in Sons of the Forest. The first gun that can be found quite quickly is the Pistol.
In Sons of the Forest any weapon is your friend, however with the Pistol you will need to scavenge some bullets appropriate to the weapon. In this case 9mm is your target ammunition.
Where to find a Gun in Sons of the Forest
As seen in the above image, having your GPS equipped which you can find in your emergency kit, allows you to see points of interest on our interactive map. As a result of this, we can see a purple marker out in the water. Once you find it on the GPS, begin to follow the river down towards the open water.
Secondly, once you reach the end of the river it should bring you to a small one person campsite. This point of interest is rather amusing, as there is a functioning boombox playing loud party music. Quite the contrast the current events of the game however. Looking out towards the ocean and where the purple GPS marker is found, you can see a small dingy-like boat in the distance. As a result, prepare to swim out towards it! Beware of the sharks, however.
Once you have had your fill of fun and dancing with the music, swim out towards the boat. After reaching the edge of the dingy-boat, interact with it to pull yourself up. On the boat you will find an unfortunate man who’s cause of death we’re unsure of. Here you will find various items, but most importantly, where to find a gun!
The swim is a short distance, but a dangerous one. Keep an eye out for underwater dangers.
Finally, collect your newly found gun and keep yourself protected! This weapon will help a lot in the early game but remember ammo is precious. At this point you will pick up the GPS signal device too, removing it from the map. However you can then use them yourself to create a waypoint on the map.
