Sons of the Forest released in Early Access recently and the survival community has loved it. Peaking a concurrent player base of over 400,000 in the first weekend. The game is quite short in terms of questing and story, so players are excited about upcoming currently Unreleased Items.
Update: The Night Vision Goggles have just been released into the game with Patch 03 and this is how you find them!
Unreleased Items for Sons of the Forest
The Drone
Very similar to the DJI Drones you see film-makers using for film shoots, especially the controller. We might get this to scout around the Island before heading there.

The HoloLens
An interactive headset, very similar to Microsoft’s HoloLens. We can only assume that this may give us a different HUD while roaming around the island, potentially what we see on the GPS, but on screen the whole time, plus more information. One of the more exciting Unreleased Items!
Ice Climbing Pick and Helmet
We’ve seen the Climbing Pick-axe in The Forest, but its yet to make an appearance in Sons of the Forest. While datamining the game we did notice this in the game files so its likely to show up in Sons of the Forest, but we’re not sure when. At the moment the game doesn’t require any need for the Climbing Pick, so it will likely be introduced with new areas to explore.
Night Vision Goggles
You can spend a lot of time in the dark in Sons of the Forest, most of the time, if you’re like me, scared and hiding away in a small base! However, with the possible introduction of Night vision to help see better at night, we may be able to get more done. We assume, if they are introduced to the game that they will take a lot of battery life!
Rifle and Weapon Rack
At the moment, decorating your log cabins and bases is very limited. We also do not have a weapon rack yet like we did in The Forest. This looks like they are thinking of introducing a more modern weapon rack but also the possibility of a Sniper Rifle. This is one of the more interesting Unreleased Items. Again, similar to the night vision goggles, we will assume that ammo will be scarse as this thing will probably do a lot of damage!
