What is the Temple of Roar?
The Temple of Roar stands as one of the covert dungeons accessible within Throne & Liberty. This enigmatic dungeon has evolved into a sanctuary dedicated to harnessing extraordinary strength. Amidst the ancient grassland, countless mysteries patiently await discovery. To undertake this captivating journey through Temple of Roar, however, one must diligently progress to Level 40, ensuring adequate preparation for the impending battles. Functioning as a crucial stepping stone in your journey, the Temple of Roar presents challenges that refine your skills, preparing you for the adventures that lie beyond its shadowy depths.
Who is King Chimaerus?
In ancient texts, it is recounted that Belluatan observed a reflection of himself in a lion wandering the plains. He imbued it with the Star of Sylaveth, thus giving rise to King Chimaerus. The corrupted greed and chaos within the order have contorted King Chimaerus’ appearance into the grotesque chimeric form it currently possesses.
Navigating the Temple of Roar
You don’t need to look for any portals to visit the Temple of Roar. Find the hidden dungeon in the content region by navigating the game menu. After clicking on it to display Paola’s Dimension Circle and the list of Secret Dungeons, choose Temple of Roar. You’ll be taken to the mysterious depths of the Temple of Roar with this easy action, where difficulties await you.
As you advance through the Temple of Roar, your first adversary, the Ancient Shade Monk, will confront you. Inflicting substantial melee damage upon its enemies, like other dungeon foes, requires a coordinated effort to defeat. Proceeding into the hall, another formidable enemy awaits – the Ancient Dark Shaman. This adversary poses a significant magical area-of-effect threat, summoning a magic circle on the ground and launching direct attacks. Accompanying the Dark Shaman is the Ancient Zombie Mutt, an ally in the fight. These Zombie Mutts may either be found or spawn in subsequent dungeon rooms, so ensure to eliminate them all. It’s also worth mentioning that in this room, you can find a moonstone that you can mine.
Once you kill these opponents, the barrier to your right will disappear, allowing you to enter the area where you will face additional foes. Using the game’s morph system is crucial in this area of the Temple of Roar to prevent suffering any fall damage. The Ancient Shade Wizard will be your next opponent after you’ve descended. This opponent deals magical area-of-effect damage, forming a large circle that, when struck, unleashes a potent wave. You must move forward to evade their assaults.
The Ancient Dark Assassin
After defeating the Shade Wizard, you’ll encounter another formidable opponent—the Ancient Dark Assassin. This enemy presents a considerable challenge due to its high HP and the significant damage it can deal simultaneously. The Dark Assassin can teleport close to its enemies for basic attacks and executes an area-of-effect spin attack with its claws, posing a particular threat in melee combat. Additionally, another Dark Shaman awaits in the same room, disrupting your progress to the next area. Once all enemies in this room are defeated, you’ll find a Mana Fluid Regulator that, when interacted with, floods the entire room, raising you and providing access to the next area.
After crossing to the other side of the wall, you will confront another Dark Shaman, accompanied by a Zombie Mutt and a Dark Assassin. These enemies will inflict damage on you before introducing a new adversary in the room.
After defeating the initial enemies, you will now encounter the Ancient Dark Enforcer, a mage-like enemy wielding a massive scythe. This foe proves challenging to defeat as it possesses a considerable amount of HP compared to other adversaries. Moreover, it inflicts substantial damage, particularly when it throws and spins its scythe, causing area-of-effect damage to those unfortunate enough to be hit. At the opposite end of the room, there is a Shade Wizard and some Zombie Mutts that you must defeat to enable interaction with the Mana Fluid Regulator. This interaction will flood the room and elevate you, granting access to the next area.
The Ancient Berserk Dark Enforcer
Once you get to the top, there’s another tough opponent in wait for you: the stronger Ancient Berserk Dark Enforcer, who’s been watching over the wall against its adversaries. This opponent can teleport near its victim so that it may swing its scythe in front of it in a frontal strike. It can also twirl its scythe, doing a significant amount of area-of-effect damage. This opponent is more powerful and difficult to defeat than the previous Dark Enforcer since it has far more HP and can do more damage. But don’t worry, your squad will be able to collect and enjoy a ton of riches once you vanquish this opponent.
Once this powerful foe is vanquished, the Dimension Circle Resurrection Gate will open. For most players, this can be a difficult region. As soon as you go inside the chamber, you will see a center that is completely consumed in flames and shooting out bursts that harm everything in its path. You must use the morphing system to go past this dangerous section and glide to the other side of the room. To protect yourself from harm, stay clear of the exploding flames.
After safely gliding to the other side of the room, you will encounter enemies, such as a Shade Wizard, Dark Shaman, Shade Monks, and Zombie Mutts. Before advancing to the next area, take a moment to inspect the stairs on the left side of this fiery zone. There, you’ll discover a mysterious note and a moonstone. Exercise caution, though, as these items are guarded by enemies, making their acquisition a challenging task.
It’s crucial to acknowledge that this section of the Temple of Roar is teeming with numerous enemies. One useful tip is that when these enemies chase you, you can lure them toward the fire, where it can eliminate most, if not all, of those pursuing you. Remember, you can resurrect at any time in the Temple of Roar because of the Dimension Circle Resurrection Orb.
As you move on to the room you’ll encounter a batch of adversaries who are prepared to engage in battle as soon as you pass by them. However, like in dungeons, engaging with every enemy in this area isn’t mandatory. You have the option to bypass them by sticking to the wall, which is nearer, to the entrance of the following room.
Upon reaching the final area before encountering King Chimaerus, you will confront another set of enemies, consisting of a Dark Enforcer and Assassin, along with a Shade Monk and Wizard. However, awaiting you at the end is yet another formidable boss.
The Ancient Berserk Shade Wizard
The Ancient Berserk Shade Wizard sits sentry in front of the entrance leading to the area where the last fight awaits you, seeking retribution for its lost companions. This Berserk Shade Wizard shows a great deal of tenacity, making him an extremely difficult opponent. It is difficult to defeat when it has a lot of HP, and deals a lot of damage, much like a normal Shade Wizard. It typically uses its area-of-effect (AOE) strike, thus mobility is essential while dealing with this powerful opponent. Plus, it comes with the Zombie Mutt, which makes things much more difficult because you have to deal with two enemies.
Locating King Chimaerus
After defeating the Ancient Berserk Shade Wizard continue to the chamber. There you will encounter King Chimaerus, the Beast of Chaos who patiently awaits your challenge in combat.
King Chimaerus Abilities
King Chimaerus uses five different powers during the battle, thus teamwork and a well-thought-out strategy are required to destroy it. These are his abilities that aid you in the fight and help you vanquish this formidable foe.
First Ability
King Chimaerus’ first ability is considered its basic attack, wherein it jumps toward its enemy, stunning the target upon impact. Following this, it proceeds to attack its opponent with sharp claws. To stay unscathed, activate a shield skill as soon as he unleashes the attack.
Second Ability
King Chimaerus’ second ability involves the use of its serpent tail. After executing some basic attacks, it targets an opponent and unleashes a three consecutive circle of poisonous substance with its serpent tail, causing damage over time (DPS). Avoiding this is relatively easy; you simply need to move quickly.
Third Ability
King Chimaerus possesses a skill that involves launching a directed assault. Once he has identified his adversary he exhales a stream of fire breath inflicting harm upon the intended target. This particular ability proves devastating when engaged at quarters necessitating the need to remain at a safe distance.
Fourth Ability
The fourth ability of King Chimaerus is really simple. He builds up momentarily, then launches a frontal strike with his head and wags his tail to push back opponents who are coming at him from behind. Keeping a safe distance from King Chimaerus is the best way to prevent yourself from suffering damage from this ability.
Fifth Ability
The fifth ability of King Chimaerus may be quite powerful. He first leaps back to the arena’s center, charges up, then unleashes an AOE fire wave in front of him and a poisonous wave behind him, doing serious damage to any opponent in his path. Four chosen people allocated to each grappling point must utilize the action button to initiate the grapple in order to oppose this ability. By dousing the boss’s head in water, this move effectively stops the AOE waves of poison and fire.
