A Conversation with the Village Elder
Approaching the weathered figure of the village elder near the ancient tree, a sense of curiosity fills the air. Inquiring about the tree’s altered appearance, the elder shares a tale steeped in history and magic. Long ago, a revered wizard blessed the village by embedding his staff into the earth, giving rise to the magnificent protecting tree. For generations, it stood as a bastion against any threat, until the ominous arrival of the Kowazans. After their arrival, the tree lost its strength and withered away like this. The elder asks you to find out what the Kowazans did. If we knew what they did we could revive the tree. You accept the request.
The Kowazan Clan’s Orders
Journeying to the foreboding Wolf King Hill, the adventurer discovers a cryptic set of written orders belonging to the Kowazan clan. Within the faded parchment, the dark intentions of the clan are revealed to dismantle the village’s guardian by driving magical wedges around its perimeter.
Removing the Enchanted Wedges
As we came back to the Canina Village holds the key to the revival of the village’s protecting tree. Navigate the village in search of the magical wedges stopping the power of the tree in the village. With determination as their guide, we uncover the four key locations:
- Near the Exit to Akidu Valley: Amidst the tranquil beauty of the valley’s exit lies the first hidden wedge, a testament to the Kowazans’ cunning.
- Southern Cabin Rooftop: Scaling the rooftops of the village’s southern cabins, the adventurer discovers another wedge concealed amidst the thatch and timber.
- Teleportation Waypoint: At the mystical teleportation waypoint, a third wedge awaits, its presence a grim reminder of the village’s vulnerability.
- Watcher Bridge: Beneath the shadow of the Watcher Bridge, the final wedge lies in wait, its removal heralding the end of the dark enchantment.
Reminder: You don’t need to find all of the monolith rods to complete the quest you just need to destroy four of these wedges. After you destroy it it will spawn again and you can destroy it again. Their location is not in order.
A Prayer for Renewal: Restoring the Village Protecting Tree
Returning to the elder with the wedges destroyed, a sense of hope permeates the air. Together, they pray solemnly for the tree’s restoration, their voices rising in harmony as music fills the village square. And as if in response to their collective plea, the village protecting tree stirs from its slumber, branches reaching skyward once more in a triumphant display of renewal and resilience.
As the song finishes in the Canina Village, the sight of the tree on the brink of withering is now full of green leaves with life and happiness around. It become the symbol and hope to the villagers of the Canina village.
